We are SO very proud of our year 6 children who have completed their SATs today. 🤩👏👏
They have worked so hard and are an absolute credit to their parents and the Y6 staff team. 💜
Mrs Allison 🥰
We are often short of tinned/dry foods for our food bank table.
Any donations would be appreciated 💜
Our Picture News theme this week considers freedom of speech. Words can do a lot of good or a lot of damage, so should our public comments be monitored? Social media gives the opportunity to make our thoughts and ideas as public as we wish, but is it OK to just say what we want to? Should we have the right to say whatever we choose whenever we choose? Please try to find time this week to have a chat with your children about this.
Today we had our first 'Thames Afternoon Tea' for lunch and our catering team did not disapppoint!![]()
The children on school dinners were treated to either a sandwich selection and crisps or cheese and egg flan with chips, and then this amazing salad and pasta bar filled with lots of healthy but delicious options, and finished with yummy raspberry buns as a sweet treat!![]()
If only school dinners had been this good when we were kids!!

Our Picture News item this week is about a pet healthcare scheme which has been set up in 38 countires across Europe. Ukranian refugees will be offered free access to the scheme as part of the support programme available to them. Our question is - 'Should pets be protected more than other animals?' Please try to have a chat with your children about this.
Reception are looking for a typewriter. Do any of our parents or grandparents have one they would be willing to donate? 🤷🏽♀️💜

Machu Picchu in Peru is one of the world's most famous and visited sites. It has recently been suggested that it has been called by the wrong name for over 100 years and should actually be known by its Inca name Huayna Picchu. Does this matter? Should we continue to use the name by which it is widely recognised or should it be changed? What do you think? Please try to have a chat with your children about the implications of incorrectly naming cultural and historical sites. Is it disrespectful?
Well done to
6T for 99.5% &
2T 98.8% attendance this week 👏👏
Every day counts.
Many of the children have been fascinated this week by the details of Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic exploration, featured in Picture News. Here are further details of the key events, which you might like to look at together. Most of the children recognised that our greatest learning often comes through failure and our further attempts. They all felt that in this case, the safe return of all 27 people in the expedition was a huge success.
